My main tasks have been:

Design:
  • Designing the main mechanics and iterating them through the development
  • Level Design
  • Game Balancing
Programming:
  • Programming various systems: Level and Stellar map generation, AI, Pathfinding...
  • General development and bug fixing
Writing and Production:
  • Writing most of the narrative (Mainly random events and all character descriptions)
  • Taking care of the production of the game managing the work assigned to every person with the time available.

GAME SUMMARY

Ignited Steel is a rogue-like tactics game with a sci-fi setting. The core idea of the game is the managing of the mech's temperature. The player controls a squad of old mechs with overheating issues fighting against evil AI that has rendered useless current technology.
Overheating the mechs is a double-edged sword. The greater the heat, the greater the damage both dealt and received.

Out of combat, the players are able to modify each mech's weapon, support equipment, and core, modifying their attributes and their available actions. In their journey, the players will not only fight but also encounter themselves in unexpected events that will lead to different situations in every run.

The game was released on March 9, 2022, and some months later the team released a free prologue with new extra content (I only worked partially on the update as I was already working at Nimble Giant at the time)
